Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Certificate Program

The GCED Certificate Program is designed to prepare emerging leaders and educators to foster inclusive, sustainable, and participatory global communities. Through critical inquiry, intercultural understanding, and civic engagement, participants explore the values, knowledge, and skills necessary to lead initiatives that promote global equity and local action.

Program Overview

This certificate program provides learners with a comprehensive framework of global citizenship education, grounded in human rights, cultural diversity, environmental ethics, and civic responsibility. It supports participants in cultivating ethical leadership and global competencies that are essential for navigating today’s interconnected and unequal world.

Structured in a hybrid format, the program integrates reflective learning, collaborative projects, and action-oriented experiences aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4.7.

  • Program Length: 8 to 10 weeks

  • Format: Hybrid (Online and In-person)

  • Target Audience: Youth leaders, educators, students in education and development fields

  • Credential: Certificate issued by Pillar Foundation International

  • Languages: English (with local adaptation available)

Three Learning Domains, Ten Integrated Modules

The GCED curriculum is organized into three core domains—Foundation, Knowledge, and Skillset—and culminates in civic action and reflection.
